TIPPERARY DANCeTIPPERARY DANCE
Tipperary Dance was founded in 2010 by Alexandre Iseli and Jazmin Chiodi. Since then, Iseli and Chiodi have relentlessly elaborated a space in rural Ireland for creation, support and encounter, centred on artists and the relevance of artists’ work. Over the years, Tipperary Dance has created and performed original work 127 times in over 13 countries, including dance shows, films, documentaries, publications and a boutique Festival. Tipperary Dance is an artist-led organisation and programme, now directed by Alexandre Iseli, a dance artist and choreographer, driven by a particular vision developed over three decades of artistic practice across Europe and the world. Tipperary Dance acts as an international creative space that engages with artists and citizens while building and providing infrastructure for the art form of dance. The production of Tipperary Dance includes dance shows, films, documentaries, publications, and a boutique Festival. Tipperary Dance International Festival attracts some of the most renowned contemporary dance artists across Europe, such as Tânia Carvalho, Lost Dog, Alexandra Waierstall, Pierre Pontvianne, François Veyrunes, Moritz Ostruschnjak, Daniel Abreu, and includes artists at the forefront of creation in Ireland, such as Liz Roche, Oona Doherty, John Scott and Philip Connaughton. Tipperary Dance’s annual international residencies exchange programme facilitates the development of emerging dancers and choreographers. Tipperary Dance also commissions new dance works, supports the professional development of artists, and promotes community engagement through its annual programmes Dance in Schools and Age in Movement The Tipperary Dance Programme is streamlined into 6 strands:
Proudly supported by the Arts Council, Tipperary County Council and Excel Arts Centre. |
